Preparing for Summer – Get Ready for the Bugs

dsc_0033_188x125shklSummer is a great time for travel, but unfortunately, it is also the time of year when asphalt and bugs are the most likely to build up on your car. If you have ever driven through a construction site with fresh asphalt, you know how frustrating it can be knowing that you will have to get that gunk off somehow.

But, if you’re prepared, you can keep those bugs, tar, and any other annoying road grime, from doing damage to your cars paint.

First and foremost, keep your car washed on a regular basis. By bringing your car in to the wash regularly, you don’t allow the road grime and bugs to stay on your car’s finish for very long. The longer they sit, the more damage that can be done.
Also, keep a good coat of polish on your car. The polish makes your car look great, but also adds a layer of protection to the finish. And don’t just polish once a year, polish often. You’ll see the results as your finish keeps more of it’s original shine even longer.

Finally, make sure that you’re getting a spray protectant added to your wash on a regular basis. The chemicals used at a professional car wash help to lengthen the life of the polish on your car and can add another layer of protection over your existing finish.

Keep the bugs and road grime at bay by being proactive with your car cleaning and bring your car in for regular washes all throughout the summer months.

Why Should You Apply Tire Dressing to Your Tires?

dsc_0050_376x250shklTire dressings are the best way to highlight your great looking vehicle. You have waxed and polished your vehicle, removed stains and odors and looked after the upholstery and leather. Now it’s time to tackle the shine of your tires. Nothing gets noticed more quickly after waxing than your glossy tires. They really complete “the look” that auto detailers want. Tire dressings will give your tires a new shiny look to them that will impress even the biggest enthusiasts.

Generally speaking, tire dressings help to prevent cracking, fading and hardening of your tires. Tire dressings also help to revitalize rubber while leaving a rich shine. Many tire dressings also give great protection to all rubber and plastic moldings as well as removing wax residue that gets onto any trim or moldings.

Buggy Bath offers tire dressing in a number of our wash packages, or as an add-on service for a full service or exterior wash.  You best option is to purchase one of our wash packages that include the tire dressing, along with other services that will help keep your car looking it’s best.

How Does Car Polish Protect a Car’s Paint?

dsc_0036_376x250shklYou hear all the time from everyone in the car care business that “you really should get your car polished.”  But most of these guys won’t tell you why.  They just tell you to do it, no explanation needed.  At least that’s what most of them think.

Not here at Buggy Bath Car Wash.

We want you to know why you need a car polish.  Here’s 4 of the top ways that car polish protects a car’s paint.

Acts as a Sealant

Car polish offers a protective barrier to car paint. A good quality car polish applies very much like car wax, and it offers many of the same benefits. Car polish absorbs directly into the outermost layers of a car’s paint. When the polish is removed, a small film of polish is left directly on the paint. This layer of polish seals each individual paint pore and offers protection against sun, dirt and many other environmental factors.

Creates a Non-Stick Surface

In addition to offering protection against external environmental factors, car polish further protects a car’s paint job by creating a super-slippery surface that makes it extremely difficult for potentially damaging particulate to cling to your car. Road grime, bird droppings and tree sap all count as substances that are extremely hazardous particulate that can damage a car’s paint job immensely. By eliminating or reducing the amount of foreign matter that sticks to a car’s paint job, car polish offers extraordinary protection.

Removes Oxidation

Oxidation is the natural process of paint decay that is primarily caused by excessive heat, sun and oxygen exposure. Oxidized paint results in a faded, cracked and weakened paint surface. Car polish eliminates a great deal of oxidation by absorbing the damaged paint molecules and enabling healthier areas of paint to shine through. When car polish is wiped off with a rag, the oxidized paint is removed along with it.

Conditions Paint

Many car polishes contain a variety of additives that are designed to condition–or alter positively–a car’s paint job. Aloe, polyurethane and even jojoba extracts are added to many leading car polishes in order to further protect and condition a car’s paint job. Many of these additives improve the texture, shine and gloss of car paint, and they offer further protection against environmental hazards.

All great reasons to get your car polished on your next visit to Buggy Bath Care Care.  Besides all that, your car just looks amazing after a fresh polish!  Polishing your car is something that should be done at least twice a year to keep your car’s finish looking it’s best, so drop by today and let the folks at Buggy Bath take care of you!
